What You Should Be Focusing On Improving Item Upgrades
Path of Exile Item Upgrades
Upgrades to items are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Often times however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a form of upgrade that can be used on weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of the item that they are connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components within them by with a professional or higher salvage kit.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will take on. Upgrading a piece of armor to maximum upgrade level will boost the damage it absorbs. However, it's important to keep in mind that this will increase its weight, causing it to weigh more than before.
There are several types of armor upgrades available in the game, and each one has distinct effects. For instance, certain upgrades give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade the item can be given, as illustrated below.
look at this web-site require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which is indicated by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges to use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either updated daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.
The cheapest method of upgrading armor is with Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the environment and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more costly, however, it is available in the smelters of Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to higher level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant boost in stats, and are well worth the investment.
Upgrading a piece of armor to the highest upgrade level will dramatically boost its defense, but the player should be aware that putting on weight can drastically decrease its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The defensive boost gained typically isn't worth the weight and power cost of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can increase the accuracy of a rifle or the damage that shotgun shells do. Certain firearms have upgrades that enhance their inherent capabilities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes the possibility of overheating), and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed for greater damage) are two examples.
The majority of weapon upgrades require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These are obtained through either completing Side Quests, taking out a certain number of bosses or monsters, or through the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a set number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. The cost of upgrading will be lower if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until you reached the maximum upgrade level for the equipment or weapon, following which the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this, but the process is based on RNG and low on agency. You're better off buying gear that has minimal upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These items have a higher likelihood of granting you most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.
To improve their skills faster, most players will prioritize upgrading their weapons. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates use to make them stronger. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used with biotic specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels can be used to improve the stats of a character or to provide additional effects in armor and weapons. They can be created through an process known as jewelry crafting, where you combine a gem with various reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world through Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.
The quality of a jewel can be improved by the Jeweler in stages that range from Crude to Royal. Based on the level of the gem it will give different stat boost when slotted into weapons, gear and jewelry.
The Jeweler is able to create all tiers of gems, except for the rare and legendary ones, which you must be at certain levels to gain. Jewels can be substituted with another one without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.
Using more jewels in the movement will make it feel smoother and is typically used for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and make a harder surface than metal so that repeated friction from pivots do not cause damage to them.
A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your shields and weapons. These glyphs offer a small boost in power and can be swapped, but they're not guaranteed to be available as loot. Glyphs are like jewelry and can be upgraded by the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs are also removed and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, are not swappable, and are only recoverable by using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to give your character many small, but valuable benefits. They can be obtained in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by completing road interactions. They can also be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket players will be able to unlock is the cloak. It provides a tiny but beneficial boost in movement speed and the ability to evade. After that, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same manner to the way a player can acquire weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any piece of equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and only work with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant bonuses and abilities that are active when the hero is not fighting. This enables the hero to perform better when they are not active, and can also help fill in the void of a strong team or any talent tree slots which would normally be filled with the hero's best statistics.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace in the near future, then any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when you're looking to upgrade several statistics on an item. It is better to upgrade one important stat instead of two subpar ones.
Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinket to a red trinket at the start of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand they will select a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices can impact the ability of a hero to control the map.
In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets in the form trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be obtained by completing certain milestones within the story. For instance, completing the main quest of a chapter or defeating an opponent. They can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
